Apprenticed to a Milliner at age 16, I then worked as a Production Manager in the fashion industry for a hat designer with international sales, and while living in New York, I made hats and costumes for Broadway, The Metropolitan Opera, and Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Moving from New York to London, hats to costumes, workshop to wardrobe, fashion to theatre and on to TV and commercials. I've made hats, costumes and cos props, and worked in-house, on set, and with touring wardrobes as an assistant and as a dresser.

Working for Susanna Wood we made hats for Ally Capellino, Nigel Preston and Jasper Conran Collections.

I have also made hat commissions for private clients. 

Theatre 

Costumes and hats and alterations for numerous Theatre Productions 

Eugenious - Battersea Turbine Theatre. Claire Evans, Production Coordinator.

Tis a Pity She's a WhoreThe Hammersmith Lyric Studio. As You Like It - Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. The Magic Flute for The Opera Factory and for The Unicorn (Arts) Theatre on several In House productions, all Jo Staples supervising, HOD The Unicorn Theatre.

Ash Girl - The Birmingham Rep, Angela Davies designing, Chloe Staples Supervising. 

Burke and Hare - Ophaboom Theatre Company, for James Seabright and costume buying for Island, staged at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The Wizard of Oz The National Youth Music Theatre, Ez Devlin designing.  

The London Studio Centre for Moby Dick the Musical, Marian Colquhoun designing.

TV and advertising

Thums up advertising campaign - Fight Gravity Films. On set wardrobe alterations. Producer Alexandra Anderson.

​Wendy Benstead - Costume - making, buying and running for a well known channel and series, involving futuristic elements. NDA.

Devising and hand sewing synchro swimming costumes for Aquabatix.

Robert Allsopp & Associates - Netflix: The Witcher, leather costumes and tunics for season 2 and finishing work for Ikea: The Hair and the Tortoise. Most recently 2021: samples for an upcoming Sci Fi series NDA.

Olam Anniversary Celebrations. Costume making/seamstress, on dresses for a production held in Singapore. Designed by Petra Storrs

The Piano Fairy  - Maya Wolff. I made fairy wings and a headdress for a business promotion for a private client, in Brighton.

Coca Cola - Annex Films. Designed by Sam Perry. I made giant fruits and veggies costumes.

Aristophanes - Bandung Production for Channel 4. Designed by Annie Symons. Costume and Millinery for on set wardrobe. I also made several giant golden penises!

Doctor Pepper / Pizza Script ad campaign - Designed by Annie Symons. I covered a leather Jacket entirely in studs.

Grimm Tales 2 - Employed as a stand-in Deputy Wardrobe Manager at The Young Vic, and assistant to Chloe Staples, Wardrobe Manager.

The Boys in the Boat - Costume Trainee.  MGM Feature Film. Directed by George Clooney, Costume design Jenny Eagan. Working on Crowd Costume. Processing 1930s hire costumes and fittings, maintenance and on set marquee support for approximately 4000 supporting artistes. Also buying, deliveries, hire returns and work on principal millinery.

 

Matriarch - Costume Trainee. On set truck, standby support, breaking down, costume returns.

Horror film for Disney on Hula/Star channel. Directed by Ben Steiner, Costume design Nadine Powell.

Love at First Sight - Intern on pre-production for the Netflix series. Currently in Post.

Fisherman's Friends 2 - Costume Daily. Assisting the standby with the supporting band members and James Purefoy. Costume Designer Oliver Cronk, supervisor Bronya Arcisizewska.

Employed at The London Studios (ITV studios) wardrobe, initially to organise the stock and help designers with costume choices. Later I helped out on some of the live shows filmed at the studios, and assisted Nicky Campbell with his costumes. Justine Westwood HOD.

The Wizard of Oz - Costume maker, and assistant on tour with the production for The National Youth Music Theatre. Designed by Ez Devlin.

Cinderella - Assistant costume supervisor for the pantomime. with Hannah Spearritt, S Club 7.

Staged in Ipswich at The Regent Theatre. Enchanted Entertainment.

Dresser

I first worked as a Dresser at a one-off charity fashion event for War child, held at London Zoo!

King Lear - Principal dresser to Kathryn Hunter and Marcello Magni at The Young Vic Theatre
Cleopatra - Principle Dresser to Mark Rylance at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. I worked for a season on 3 productions, and with the actors Danny Sapani, Mark Lewis Jones, Ben Wong, Tez Maynard.

Moll Flanders - Devised 'Quick Changes' on stage for a touring production for Rob Crouch, Brute Farce. 

Trolling - Devised 'Quick Changes' for a production at The Edinburgh Fringe for Rob Crouch, James Seabright.
